CRITICAL HARDNESS WHEN HARD-DRY CUTTING GCr15

Liu Xianli Meng An Chen Liguo Hou Shixiang Li Zhenjia (Harbin University of Science and Technology) Yuan Zhejun (Harbin Institute of Technology)  
Through the study on cutting force, cutting temperature machined surface quality of quench bearing steel GCr15 with vartious hardness, an influencing rule of the workpiece hardness on above parameters and chip state, hardness, deforming ratio is gained, the concept of critical hardness is put forward, and 50 HRC was confirmed as the critical hardness of hard cutting and common cutting.
