NONLINEAR CONTROL OF MEMBRANE SPRING CLUTCH

Because of the nonlinear elastic characteristic of membrane spring, it is difficult to achieve high precision in control of automat ic clutch of automobile. Since the characteristic of nonlinear input is known,a nonlinear compensator is designed based on generalized energy principle and inve rse function theorem. Furthermore, the asymptotic stability of the close-loop co ntrol is proved in theory. The compensator is applied to track expectational out put angular velocity for aut matic membrane clutch. The results show that the no nlinear controller is of asymptotic stability, morerover, its track performance much better than of linear controller.
