Effect of Health Intervention by Liaison Nurses in Diabetic Patients in Non-diabetic Department

Objective To explore the role of diabetic liaison nurses on diabetic patient management in non-diabetic department.Methods The diabetes knowledge and treatment compliance of 120 patients(60 cases before and after establishment of liaison nurse team,respectively) were compared and the effect of health intervention by liaison nurses was analyzed.Results After intervention by liaison nurses,the diabetes knowledge and treatment compliance(including medicine taking,blood glucose monitoring,diet control and exercise) were improved obviously in diabetes patients in non-diabetic department(P0.05).Conclusion The health intervention by diabetic liaison nurses can improve the effect of health education in diabetes patients in non-diabetic department.
