Study on Thermal Ageing Level of Oil-paper Insulation Based on Comprehensive Evaluation with Multi-characteristic Parameters

An accelerated thermal ageing test was conducted on transformer insulation oil for 40 days,the characteristics parameters such as polymerization degree, furfural content, total hydrocarbon(methane,ethane, and ethylene) content, and carbon monoxide content were measured regularly during the test. The polymerization degree was chosen as the evaluation criteria of the transformer insulation ageing, and the relation formulas between polymerization degree and the parameters were obtained by fitting method,respectively. Combining with multi index comprehensive evaluation method, the parameters time, temperature, furfural content, carbon monoxide content and total hydrocarbon content were used as evaluation index to calculate the polymerization degree via the relation formulas. The results show that introducing the multi-characteristic parameters can not only ensure the accuracy of estimating the polymerization degree of ageing, but also has the advantage of non-stop online measurement.
