Clinical analysis of enteral nutrition in the treatment of 27 cases of gastroparesis after abdominal operation

Objective To explore the role of enteral nutrition in the treatment of gastroparesis after abdominal operation.Methods The clinical data of 48 patients in our hospital were analyzed retrospectively from January 2003 to December 2007.All cases were divided into the test group including 28 cases and the control group including 21 cases and the enteral nutrition was tested.While parenteral nutrition was tested to the other one.Nutritional parameters including albumin,prealbumin and total protein were evaluated before and after the treatment.Recovery time of gastroparesis was also compared at the same time.Results The levels of PA,Alb and TP in the two groups were not significantly different statistically.The restoring time of gastroparesiscations was significantly shorter in test group than that of the control group.Conclusion Enteral nutrition was a effective way of nutritional support.It can effectively promote the resumption of gastroparesis after abdominal operation.Enteral nutrition should be applied in the patients with gastroparesis.
