Approach to Shipborne Electronic Crosshair Stabilization Based on Coordinate Transformation

Ship mistrim caused by ocean wave affects imaging of cameras fixed on deck of aircraft carrier.To compensate ship mistrim,a crosshair stabilization method was developed.The method set up the effect model of ship mistrim on imaging based on coordinate transformation.By utilizing pitch and roll degrees,intrinsic and extrinsic parameters of CCD camera etc.,the position of the crosshair can be calculated using the model.If the crosshair is stabilized,the reticles and landing aircraft will move in unison with ship's pitch/roll excursions,and their relative positions will be independent of ship mistrim.Experiments showed that under different pitch/roll degrees,the position of the rectiles calculated from the model equals the position of the object,and errors are comparatively small in permissible mistrim.The method provides a theoretical basis for further research of crosshair stabilization.
