Application of Image Matching Technology in Automatic Detecting Printing Registration Deviation

Detecting registration deviation accurately plays an important role in the automatic overprint control system.A new method based on image matching for detecting printing registration deviation is presented according to the feature of printing color mark image,the position of each single color mark is acquired with correlation matching;Meanwhile,the system's nominal resolution is determined by the di- ameter of mark circle,then the horizontal and vertical registration deviations are measured.The algorithm is described in particular and the experiment is implemented.Comparing with basic edge detection methods,Image Matching Technology can fully take use of whole color mark.The experimental result shows that the new method is robust to the transformation of pixel grey value and the noise of the image sys- tem,and has high detecting precision.
