Effect of Polypropylene Fiber and Styrene-Butadiene Latex on the Property of Cement Mortar

The compressive and flexural strength of cement mortars modified by polypropylene fiber(0~0.3% volume fraction) or/and styrene-butadiene latex(0~12% mass fraction) at the ages of 3,28,90 d were tested,and the abrasion and impact performance for 28 d′s cement mortar were also study.The results show that the content of fiber can greatly improve the abrasion and impact property of latex mortar.In latex mortar,for abrasion performance,the best content of fiber is 0.1%,and for impact performance,the more content of fiber,the better effect get.The content of latex improves the interface bond between fiber and matrix,enhances the long-term mechanical property of fiber cement mortar.The effect of compound mixed of latex and fiber into the cement mortar show good performance than mixed by single.Compound admixtures have double modified effect for mortar.
