Form Finding of Tensegrity Structures by Force Density Method

The force density method was selected as the most effective way to form finding of tensegritystructures among the venous finite element methods. In the paper, the force density method wasintroduced and applied to tensegrity systems after an appropriate modification. Then, the basicformula of the nonlinear extended force density method under additional constraining conditions wasderived with the finite element program of force density compiled. Three examples have beenanalyzed by the program and the result of the most complicated one--the tetrahedral-complexhas been verified by a model test.
