Research on the Mechanism of Probing Cavity with Ground Penetrating Radar and Analysis on Application Examples of Tunnel

The range and number of cavities between tunnel lining and surrounding rock as well as on the inside of backfill grouting at landslide area are severely restricted,so as to increase the carrying capacity and density of the tunnel and,furthermore,to ensure the quality and safety of the tunnel.To study the mechanism of probing cavities with GPR,the compactness of tunnel lining and backfill grouting at landslide area with GPR of LTD-2100 was detected in Malipo tunnel.After comparing the testing results around filling time,a conclusion is easily drawn that GPR measuring method has obvious advantage of fast and accurate positioning cavities and then grouting is put into effect,which provides us with a superior unscathed method to detect the large tunnel efficiently,so that the security reserve and the quality rating of the tunnel are improved effectively.Meanwhile,these advantages expand the application area of GPR in geophysics exploration.
