Intervene of TCM health education in patients with diabetes

Objective To investigate the intervening result of TCM health education in patients with diabetes. Method The subjective assessment (including basic knowledge on diabetes, meals according to TCM syndrome differentiation and TCM health preserving knowledge) and the changes of biochemical indexes (including fasting blood glucose, 2-hour postprandial blood sugar and glycosylated hemoglobin) were surveyed and compared before and after the education in the patients with diabetes who willingly participated the TCM health education. Result The subjective assessment and biochemical indexes had statistical significance in the patients with diabetes participated the education. Conclusion TCM health education can improve the cognition, subjective initiative, life style and biochemical indexes of the patients with diabetes, and is helpful to control diabetes and reach the aim of diabetes secondary prevention.
