Deep exploration was carried out in Jinchuan mine of Gansu Province by using magnetic method,controlled-source audio-magneto-telluric method, and P wave seismic tomography. The comprehensive researches based on the above methods revealed the high resistivity and high velocity characteristics of the magma source to the depth of over 2 500 m,suggesting that the lava came to the shallow part and spread on both sides to form shallow nearly-horizontal lenticular branches. The fact that the possible consistency between the deep ore-bearing ultrabasic rock and the mineral deposit revealed by the drilling hole provides geophysical evidence for the metallogenic model of the Jinchuan copper-nickel mine.Future exploration should focus on investigating relatively gentle,nearly-horizontal,high-velocity,and low resistivity bodies.
