STABLE ISOTOPE STUDIES OF GOLD DEPOSITS IN QIYUGOU AREA,HENAN PROVINCE

In Qiyugou area of Henan Province there are cryptoexplosive breccia type and Structurally shattered altered rock type gold depos its,which are closely related to the ditoribution of the Mid dle-Late Yanshanian calc-alka-line graz1itoids. Recel1t studies show that the two types of gold deposito were formed at the same time a nd have similar hydrothernal alteration-minerali- zation cbareteristics,and that their whole mineralization process might be divided temporally into “fore”,“amain” and “late” alteration-minoralization phaas.The two typos of gold deposits are extrermely sin1i lar to each other in stable isotope feati1res, suggesting the cognate natl1re of these deposits,Hydro-gen,oxygen,canbon and sulfur isotopic studies imply the magmatic water nati1Ie of the ore-formlng fluid at the main metallogenic phase and the addi-tion of considerable amounts of meteoric water to the ore-forming fluid at the late metallogenic phas e. The high degree of sulfur isotope homogenizstion and the similar lead isotope composi tion between the granite complexes and the goid deposits demons trate that ore materials of the gold deposi ts and rock-forming materials of the calc-alkaline grani toids were all derived from the upper mantle, with the entry of small amounts of upper crust lead into the ore-forming fluid. The breccia type gold deposits are somewhat different from the altered rock type gold deposits in sulfur and carbon isotopic com position,which accounts for tl1e fact that u1e breccia body served as the center of the ore-forming fluid activity,and outwards,the composition of the ore-forming fluid varied to some extent.
