Influence to Stability by Thickness of Hard Rock in Slope

Li Yujiao;Yu Zhi;Chen Bing;Yu Cheng;School of Earth Science and Engineering,Hohai University;Three Gorges Geotechnical consultants CO.,Ltd.Youxian Gmgsi( Wuhan);Power China Guiyang Engineering Corporation Limited;
Mainly taking the formation lithology and geological structure of Nanjing area,Jiangsu province for basis,based on the limit equilibrium theory,using the SLOPE / W module and VADOSE / W module of geo-studio software,the influence to slope stability by thickness of hard rock in slope is calculated and analysed under the natural condition and heavy rain condition. The results show that the hard rock existing in slope plays a very beneficial effect to slope stability. And the existing hard rock can increase the scope and depth of the potential sliding surface about slope,and it play a positive role in resistance.
