Effet of Boron Containing Additives on the Formation of Dicalcium Silicate in Magnetite Sintering Process

The formation mechanism of dicalcium silicate (C 2S) and the effect of boron containing additives on the formation of C 2S in magnetite sintering process has been investigated.CaO is dissolved in primary liquid of the system FeO—SiO 2,and then saturated liquid precipites C 2S in magnetite sintering process.The liquid further precipitates C 2S and calcium ferrite on cooling.The amount of precipitated calcium ferrite may be increased and that of C 2S may be reduced when boron containing materials were added.
