Effects of host plant on the esterase activity and insecticide tolerance of Aphis gossypii Glover

The differences of the weight, color, esterase activity and insecticide tolerance of ophis gossypii feeding on 5 species of host plants were reported in this article. It was found that the esterase activity of thealate adults has the negative relation with their weight, and has the positive relation with their tolerance to insecticides. The esterase activity (X) and ddriethoate LC50 (Y) fits Y= 8. 3827X- 67. 8530 (r=0. 952 ), the esterase activity (X ) and Lambda cyhalothrin LC50 (Y) fits. Y= 1 .040X- 28.89 (r=0.985 ).
