The factors that influence population dynamics of pine caterpillars are reviewed. Climate, natural enemies, quality of pine needle and silviculture measurement are the main factors that influenced the dynamics of populaiton. Favorable climate, decrease of natural enemies, abundance of foliage and absence of forestry technology methods can induce the outbreak of the population. Vice versa, wicked climate, increase of natural enemies, absence of foliage and rationalization of forestry technology methods can check the outbreak of the population of pine caterpillars.
