Comparison of stresses in implant and natural teeth in maxillary complex

Objective: To compare the stress distribution in implant and nature teeth in maxillary complex. Methods:Three-dimensional finite element analysis method was adopted. Results: When the natural teeth and the implant in thesame site in maxillary complex were loaded equally they had same stress distribution. The intensities of stresses weresimilar. The stress of implant under vertical loading in maxillary complex was slightly larger than that of nature teeth inmaxillary complex. Conclusions: Although without the buffering action of periodontal membrane, dental implant is ableto transmit stress effectively by connecting with maxillary complex closely. Osseointegration implant in maxillary hasmechanical availability.
