The Pictorial Turn of Chinese Language Curriculum:Its Connotation,Characterization and Development Direction

The advent of the picture world has driven the emergence of the pictorial turn of the Chinese language curriculum.Starting from the relationship between picture and text,this paper analyzes the connotation of the pictorial turn of Chinese language curriculum to confirm the historical motivation of its background,and gives a theoretical basis to the proposition of the pictorial turn of Chinese language curriculum.The characterization of the pictorial turn of Chinese language curriculum is reflected in four aspects:the reading habits have changed from immersive reading to browsing,the form of knowledge has changed from invisible infiltration to clear presentation,the way of thinking has changed from linear to nonlinear,and the aesthetic experience has changed from being absent to being present.Based on these reflections,this study points out that we should utilize the educational power of the picture and text rationally,develop the visual literacy of teachers and students actively,and use visual techniques appropriately in order to promote the development of Chinese language curriculum.
