On the Design of Micro-course:Its Attributes,Principles and Elements

Yu Hongliang;Curriculum and Teaching Materials Research Institute,People's Education Press;
The systematic,adaptable and easy-to-use characteristics of micro-course design directly determine the normalization and application in education practice,which could be the media between the theory and practice.From the perspective of attribute,although micro-course is short and refined,it could still be categorized as a kind of curriculum.Therefore the attribute of curriculum was the primary attribute of micro-course.With the infusion of the modern technology,the design of micro-course has attributes such as miniaturization in volume,semi-openness in structure,serialization in content,hybridity in implementation,and experience in aesthetic appreciation.Integrating the dual attributes of curriculum and technology,the design of micro-course should play the advantages of technology,media and network,and demonstrate the subjectivity of students,the subtleness of content,the attractiveness of interaction,and the wholeness of structure.From the point of elements,the design of micro-course includes not only holistic design and content design,but also media design and application design.Only by systematically analyzing the attributes and principles of micro-course design,focusing on key knowledge of the subject content,creating a digital and technological cognitive environment,and constructing an appropriate teaching application model,could we ensure the systematization and high quality of micro-course design.
