Optimum design of single-layer lattice shells considering the effect of geometrical nonlinearity

A structural optimization algorithm is presented for singlelayer lattice shells.In the process of optimum design,both the stress constraints and displacement constraints are considered. The geometrical nonlinearity is taken into account during the computation of stresses and displacements. A computer program is developed, and the design example verifies the effectiveness of the proposed method. Optimum results of the design example also show that the singlelayer lattice shell may be not safe if the effect of geometrical nonlineraty is not considered.
