Isolation of Strain Ynxd-1 and Its Leaching Efficiency of Low-Grade Sulfide Nickel and Copper Ore

An acidophilic strain ynxd-1 is isolated from an acid copper mine drainage,and its morphology,growth characteristics,16S rRNA gene sequence,low-grade sulfide nickel and copper ore leaching efficiency are then studied.The result shows that the bacteria cell is rod-shaped,gram-negative and that spore formation is not observed.It grows optimally at 30℃ and pH 2.0.After leached with strain ynxd-1 in shaken flask at 30℃ for 28 days,the leaching efficiency of low-grade sulfide nickel and copper ore pulp(10%,W/V) reaches 56.4%.On the basis of 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity,strain ynxd-1 is shown to belong to Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans,being related to the type strains of A.ferrooxidans(99% similarity).
