Study on Flow Regime Identification of Gas-Liquid Two Phase Flows in the Mixing Process by Top Blowing

Water modeling experiment is carried out on the mixing process of top-blowing gas-liquid fluid in electric furnace using a vertical glass Y shape. Photos of the regime of multi-phase flow in the tube are taken by a high-speed camera. An S-shaped flow regime method based on gray level co-occurrence matrix is adopted to extract the numerical features of gray value of the time series based on numerical pictures of regimes of two phase flows. Analysis is done to the regimes by the average period methods about interval and free interval. The experimental results show that the method can effectively identify the single bubble flow,multi bubble flow,churn flow and slug flow.
