THE INHIBITING EFFECT OF RA AGAINST ACC-M CLONE METASTATIC TO THE LUNG

Purpose:To observe the inhibiting effect of RA against Acc-M clone metastatic to the lung. Methods:Cloned salivary adenoid cystic carcinoma cell highly metastatic to the lungs,and the animal model of lung metastates.The cells incubated together with RA of different concentrations,then the metastatic potentials were assessed in vivo.Results:The result indicated:the concentration of 10 μmol/L 20 μmol/L could inhibit the metastases; the metastatic rate, the weight of metastatic lungs and the number of metastatic loci reduced significantly after the administration of RA than thatof control. But the inhibiting effect was not concentration-dependent. Conclusions: The loci reacting with RA might be limited: RA could be an effective metastatic inhibitor only when it achived saturation concentration; 10 μmol/L might be the lowest saturable concentration.The mechanism of RA inhibiting Acc-M's metastatic potential needs further research.
