The purpose of this study is to explore the immunoenhancement and anti-cancer effect of astragalus membranaceus on human squamous cell carcinoma cell line GNM.The method was to implant GNM cells to the subcutaneous tissue of 20 nude mice and form tumor. We observed the tumor inhibition rates of astragalus and pingyangmycin in nude mice, and examined the cytotoxic activities of NK cells in splenic cell. The results showed that the inbibition rates of the three experimental gruops were 60.4%,75.3% and 84.5% and percentage of NK eytotoxicity were 4.420.98%,2.310.91%,and 4.410.85%,respectively,The results proved that astragalus cembranaceus had a good anti-cancer effect in human squamous cell carcinoma.
