Experimental Research on Positioning Precision of the Digital Close-range Photo-grammetry in the Larger Vertical Fa-ade

In the paper,a study is made on positioning precision of the common digital camera-based digital close-range photo-grammetry in the larger vertical fa-ade,which includes that using the 2D DLT and the co-linearity equation to decompose the initial values of exterior orientation elements firstly,and then calculating accurately the point coordinates by using the bundle adjustment with self-calibration. The test done on a 20-m high and 40-m wide vertical fa-ade of a building indicates that the relative positioning precision in plane and depth of the point coordinates could be up to 1/16000 and 1/9700 respectively.
