DUANMU He-shun,FENG Hai-tao(Dept.of Geology and Environment,Xi'an University of Science and Technology,Xi'an 710054,China)  
Insoluble residues of silicon-potassium fertilizer,whose mineral assemblage is composed of montmorillonite,heulandite,gismondite and amorphous substance,were obtained by simulating the circumstance of radicles and the adsorption mechanism and effect of pH on Cd2+ adsorption were studied.Affected by amorphous SiO2,when pH value is higher than 7,Cd2+ adsorption tends to decrease obviously;the Cd2+ adsorption equilibrium on the residues can be described in terms of Langmuir isotherm,the kinetics of Cd2+ on the residues fits the second-ordered kinetic model.The adsorption process is controlled by pore diffusion and the effective coefficients are 8.95×10-12 cm2 s-1.ΔG is-1.203——1.554 kJ mol-1 at the experiment temperature(25-61℃),ΔS is 7.8 J mol-1 K-1,ΔH is 872.1 J mol-1,which indicates that the adsorption process is endothermic.
