GEOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS AND METALLOGENIC EPOCH OF THE LISHAN MOLYBDENUM DEPOSIT—A DISCUSSION ON REGIONAL PROSPECTING FOR MO IN THE SOUTHEASTERN COAST OF CHINA

There are lots of small-scale molybdenum deposits in the southeastern coast of China,whereas there are few middle-and large-scale ones.The Lishan is one of the molybdenum deposits where great development has been made in exploration in recent years and there is a good prospecting potentiality.The deposit is located in the Wulijie-Xianyou Pb,Zn,Cu,Fe,W,Mu polymetal belt with an E-W strike.It is hosted by quartz diorite,and closely correlated to the rhyolite porphyry veins during the mineralization.This paper has provided an isochron age of molybdenites from this deposit 91.7±4.9 Ma(by the Re-Os dating method).Combined with the geological characteristics,metallogenic epoch of other molybdenum deposits nearby and the basic metallogenic rule of the molybdenum metallogenic belt in eastern China,it is suggested that the Fujiang Province,even the whole molybdenum metallogenic belt in the southeastern coast of China,has a good prospecting potentiality for molybdenum deposits.
