This paper analysis kerogen and carbon isotope of the Lower Cambrian black shale series in northern Guizhou province. Studies show that the average content of kerogen components is about 87.5%, and the kind of kerogen isⅠtype, i.e. sapropelic type. The organic elements make a feature of high-carbin-contents, and the contents of carban are higher than those of oxygen, and the contents of oxygen are higher than those of hydrogen. The organic substances of black shale series belong to light carbon istope type, whose δ~(13)C_(PDB) is between -23.74‰ to (-31.63‰).The sdudy of kerogen and carbon isotope for black shale series has great significance to expound rock-forming condition and ore-forming condition.
