PETROGENESIS OF THE SHANGMUSHUI PLUTON IN SOUTHEAST GUANGXI PROVINCE:CONSTRAINTS FROM PETROCHEMISTRY,ZIRCON U-PB AGES AND HF ISOTOPE

Quartz diorite sample from Shangmushui pluton in the southwest orogenic belt of the Yangtze block is selected for LA-ICP-MS zircon U-Pb dating.It yields a U-Pb age of 444Ma(±4),aproduct of Caledonian orogeny.Geochemical analysis reveals that the Shangmushui pluton belongs to I-type granite and to calc-alkaline and high-K calc-alkaline series.The Hf isotopic compositions of zircons shows that the rocks have ε_(Hf)(t)values of 0 to +4,and T_(2DM)(Hf)model ages are mainly concentrated between 1.2Ga~1.4Ga,implying that the magma is derived from the lower crust basic material of Mesoproterozoic.On the basis of geochemical features,Hf isotopic composition,dark particles in the rocks,and regional geological conditions,it is considered that the Shangmushui Pluton is formed after the intracontinental collision orogenic period,along with the local lithosphere stretching-thinning,and the high temperature mantle materials from the asthenosphere upwelling,partial melting of the lower basic crust in the Mesoproterozoic.And in the process of melting,the upwelling mantle derived magma formed in the source area of different level mixed with parental magma.Then,the magma experiences certain level of differentiation and evolution,finally lithified into rock.
