Rolling Resistance Analysis of Radial Tire of Passenger Vehicle with FEM

The rolling resistance of three kinds of tires(185/60R15,205/55R16 and 225/50R17) that are commonly used in passenger vehicles is analyzed with ABAQUS and so is the influence of rolling resistance on each part of material of these tires.To improve computation efficiency,tire assembly is replaced by boundary constraint.In tire models,the rubber-cord material is simulated by the rebar element and rubber is described by Yeoh material model,so as to calculate rolling resistance with different structures and material properties under the standard load and tire pressure.The simulation results of these tires are in agreement with the test,which indicates the Finite Element method to predict tire rolling resistance of passenger vehicles in this paper is reliable.
