Evolutionary economics provides a new perspective to study enterprises competitive advantage. It bases on the bounded rationality assumption, builds a non-balanced and dynamic theoretical framework, uses routine as the ″ge- ne″ for the enterprises evolution, and focuses on diversity and novelty. It is very important to reveal the evolution of enterprises competitive advantage. From the routine perspective and based on the theories of competitive advantage and evolutionary economics, this paper firstly analyses the evolution process of the enterprises competitive advantage. Then it puts forward a theoretical framework from routine construction to enterprises competitive advantage formation. Finally it gives detailed analysis for the framework from three aspects: the generation and inheritance of routine, the selective environment, and the search mechanism.
