Research of gap of innovation quality between China and overseas countries in emerging industry based on patent

It is important to develop emerging industry that is one of the key factors for the sustainable development of China's economy.The enhancement of innovation capability is the most important ring in the development of emerging industry.This paper compares the innovation quality of China and developed countries from the perspectives of patent grant rate and the length of renewal period with Chinese invention patents of five technological fields.These five technological fields are closely related with the seven emerging industries announced by the government.The enhancement of China's innovation capability of research scale is reflected by the booming of patents granted to Chinese applicants since the 21 century.However,the grant rate and average renewal period of patents granted to Chinese applicants lag behind that of developed countries.This reflects the gap of innovation capability of research quality between China and developed countries.China needs to enhance innovation quality to make a real progress in technology.This on one hand needs to improve assessment system of scientific research,on the other hand,China should learn from Korea and Taiwan who have made a great leap in technology.
