Fuzzy Rule Based variable Structure Control for a Class of Nonlinear Systems and Its Applications

The Variable Structure Control(VSC)for a class of nonlinear systems in the presence of uncertainties is studied in this paper. By integrating fuzzy rule and fuzzy control theory, a Fuzzy Variable Structure Controller(FVSC)is developed, The proposed FVSC not only exhibits strong robustness and good tracking ability, but also reduces the chattering phenomenon. significantly. Its successful application to robot control demonstrates the effectiveness and simplicity of the method.
