H~∞ Control for Linear Permanent Magnet Synchronous AC Servo System with a Command-compensator Based on Artificial Neural Network

A robust speed controller for a linear permanent magent synchronous motor (LPSM) AC servo system based on H ∞ control theory is designed.The H ∞ control strategy with a feed-forward-command-compensator based on artificial neural network (ANN) is proposed first time. Simulation and experiment results verify that the proposed control strategy not only solve the thrust ripple problem of LPSM because of end effect, but also make the direct-drive system have strong robustness to parameter variation and external disturbances.
