Value of differential diagnosis value of multiple indexes in pleural effusions

Objective To discuss the clinical test characteristics of benign and malignant pleural effusion. Methods 83 cases of different causes of pleural effusion can be divided into two groups:benige group of tuberculous empyema and malignant group of carcinema empyema. The three index marks of thoracic empyema were detected in the two groups. Results ADA,CEA and exudation LDH∕blood LDH activity in the benign exudation group were significantly higher than the other group(P0.01). Conclusion Detecting the level of ADA,CEA and exudation LDH/blood LDH is valuable for identification of the nature of exudative thoracic empyema.
