Objective To investigate the application value of PROSET in depicting the lumbosacral nerve root diseases.Materials and Methods PROSET was performed with 3D FFE on coronal image in lumbosacral nerve root of 54 cases, maximum intensity projection(MIP) was used for every image reconstruction, partial volume projection was used in 10 cases. Results In the 54 cases, nerve root diseases were found in 40 cases, normal results were in 14 cases.Lumbosacral nerve roots were well demonstrated in primary images of PROSET and were observed with multi-angle in MIP images.Partial volume projection images were superior to the MIP images. Conclusion MR PROSET can substitute conventional X-ray and CT myelography partially and is useful in the diagnosis of nerve root diseases.
