Yu Qing Wang Chengzhang (Research Institute of Chemical Proessing and Utilization of Forest Products,CAF Nanjing 210042)  
This paper reviews the present status of production and utilization of GBE from Ginkgo biloba leaves in China. It points out that using the high quality raw material and the advanced technology is the key to guarantee the product quality and reduce the production cost. Experimental results showed that the production cost of per kg GBE may be lower than 1000 yuan, if the high quality ginkgo leaves containing more than 1.20% of flavonoids and 0.3% of terpenelactones were used as the raw material.
