CHEMICAL CONSTITUENTS OF EUCALYPTUS CITRIODORA LEAVES ( PART II )——ISOLATION AND IDENTIFICATION OF FLAVONOID COMPOUNDS

Five flavonoid compounds were isolated from the ethyl acetate fraction of alcohol extract of Eucalyptus citriodora leaves. They were identified by physical and spectral analysis as quercetin, myricetin and their glycosides. quercetin-3-O-glucoside, myricetin-3-O-rhamnoside and myri-cetin-3-O-glucoside. The paper chromatography of the acid hydrolyzate of the ethyl acetate fraction showed the presence of quercetin, myricetin, cyanidin and delphinidin in it. Thus proved that the glycosides of the above mentioned flavonol and anthocyanidin presented in the ethyl acetate fraction.
