Correlation between the level of plasma microRNA-30c-5p and severity of coronary artery lesion in patients with stable angina pectoris

Objective To explore the correlation between the level of plasma microRNA(miR)-30c-5p and severity of coronary artery lesion in patients with stable angina pectoris(SAP).Methods A total of 114 patients with SAP were divided into mild group(n=42),moderate group(n=40)and severe group(n=32)according to SYNTAX scores.Fourty-two hospitalized patient without coronary artery disease confirmed by coronary artery angiography were selected as control group.Level of plasma miR-30c-5p expression was detected by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction(RT-qPCR)and compared in four groups.Relation between level of plasma miR-30c-5p expression and SYNTAX scores was assessed by Spearman correlation analysis.Influencing factors of SYNTAX scores were assessed by multiple linear regression analysis and multiple logistic regression analysis.Results There were significant differences of ratios of patients with history of hyperlipidemia,use of clopidogrel,β-blockers,angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor(ACEI)/angiotensin Ⅱ receptor antagonist(ARB)and statin drugs after admission and SYNTAX scores among four groups(P0.05).Levels of plasma miR-30c-5p expression were 1.02 ±0.22,0.95 ±0.23,0.72 ±0.21 and 0.65 ±0.18 in control group,mild group,moderate group and severe group respectively,which were significantly higher in moderate group and severe group than those in control group and mild group(P0.05),while there were no significant differences between any other two groups(P0.05).Spearman correlation analysis showed that level of plasma miR-30c-5p expression was positively correlated with SYNTAX scores in SAP patients(r=0.48,P=0.01).Multiple linear regression analysis showed that age,history of diabetes mellitus and level of plasma miR-30c-5p were independently related with SYNTAX scores(P0.05).Multiple logistic regression analysis showed that level of plasma miR-30c-5p was an independent predictor of SYNTAX scores(P0.05).Conclusion Level of plasma miR-30c-5p is related with SYNTAX score,which could be a biomarker for assessing the severity of coronary artery lesions in SAP patients.
