Research on cutting failure of mechanical internal cutter based on ADAMS

The blade of cutter often break off due to the vibration,which causes the failure of cutting equipment and influence the construction safety. To reduce the accident rate of ND-J114 type mechanical internal cutter and improve its service life,the dynamic simulation on the process of casing cutting by this cutter was carried out by using ADAMS software with the method of multi-body dynamics. The change laws of cutting force and angular acceleration of the cutter under different bit pressure and rotation speed were analyzed,and starting from the perspective of cutter vibration,the risk of breaking off of the blade could be reduced through reducing the vibration of cutter. The results showed that the optimal bit pressure of the cutter in the process of casing cutting was 4800 N,and the cutter operated smoothly. The cutting force was directly proportional to the bit pressure approximately. The optimal rotation speed of the cutter was 29 r/min,and the cutter operated smoothly. The cutting effect was better when the rotation speed was between 10 r/min and 30 r/min,and the cutting equipment was not easy to break off. The rotation speed had little effect on the cutting force.
