Wang Guowei's Acceptance of Schiller's “Description of Life”:Focusing on Kuwaki Genyoku's Introduction to Philosophy and Windelband's A History of Philosophy

KANG Jian-wei;School of Humanities, Gansu Institute of Political Science and Law;
In the theoretical journey of the literary discourse"for life", Wang Guowei selectively accepted Schiller's"aesthetic humanism"through reading Schiller's thoughts in Kuwaki Genyoku's Introduction to Philosophy and Windelband's A History of Philosophy. In Wang's opinion,"description of life"is the concrete expression of Schiller's aesthetic humanism, which starts and ends with the ideal of"human integrity".Influenced by Schiller, Wang held that" poetry describes life"so that he was the first person in China to establish the literary theory, namely,"art manifests life".
