Development,innovation and prospect steel-making technology in China

The development of steel-making technology in the last 57 years in China is reviewed in this paper.The technical progresses in steel production,steel-making process-optimization,ultra-clean-steel production,new steel grades development,energy saving and environment protection have been systematically summarized.Three important new technologies independently developed in China are described in detail,including the slag-splashing technology and combined-blowing technology for long-campaign converter,the high efficiency steel-making technology for oxygen-blowing converter as well as the EAF steel-making technology with melting iron of blast furnace.The prospect of advanced steel-making plants in 21 century is put up.
