Analysis on Research Situation and Existing Issues of p-y Curve Method

For the design and calculation of pile foundation bearing horizontal load,only K and M methods are included in the state criteria for pile foundation as well as highway culvert foundation and foundation design.The p-y curve method well shows the deformability under the combined action of pile and soil,which is one of the important methods for calculation of laterally loaded pile.Based on summary of the research situation of the p-y curve method,the existing issues are analyzed and the future research direction is proposed.
