Analysis on Stability and Formation Mechanism of Huge Accumulation in Ethiopia North Railway

Based on the site investigation and analysis of the geological characteristics of huge accumulation,it is considered that the formation mechanism is produced by bend-tension crack deformation of rock and formed by collapse. The main factors causing the deformation are: rock-soil constitution and structure,rainfall and ground water and supply of material from the trailing edge of slope. Through the qualitative evaluation and quantitative calculation,the stability state of the accumulation is analyzed comprehensively. Combined with environmental geological characteristics,a series of targeted control measures are put forward so as to avoid an engineering landslide caused by anthropogenic disturbance and ensure railway construction and operation safety.
