STUDY ON THE ADSORPTION OF METAL IONS ON TREATED CHINESE TEA

Zhao Fangshi Li shenghua Luo Xiaoping (College of Geology of Changchun)  
Adsorption properties of the treated tea for metal ions were studied. Tea was treated with formalin in a dilute sulfuric acid. The adsorption equilibrium constant (b) and maxi mum adsorption capacity (q_∞)in the Langmuir equation and the experimental constant K and 1/n in Freundlich equation were determined. Adsorption properties of the treated tea,untreated tea, and active carbon were compared. The effects of aqueous ammonia, ascorbic acid, and EDTA on the adsorption efficiency were examined.
