MCM-41 is synthesized by hydrothermal method with sodium silicate as silica source and surfactant hexadecyltrimethyl ammonium bromide(CTAB)as structure template in basic media and its structure was characterized with XRD,TEM,surface and pore distribution etc.The treatment of chromium-contained waste water with MCM-41 was experimentally investigated. The results show that the chromium removing ratio is greater than 92.70% in the condition of pH=6~6.8.And a sorption isotherm was also obtained, where the saturated sorption amount 86.56mg/g corresponded to that worked out theoretically.
