STUDY ON THE STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS AND ADSORPTION OF CROSSLINKED HYDROXYPROPYL CHITOSAN WITH Cr(Ⅵ)

Adsorption behavior of crosslinked hydroxypropyl chitosan for Cr(Ⅵ) was studied. The effects of various factors,such as pH value,reaction time,temperature,initial concentration on the adsorption behavior for Cr(Ⅵ) were discussed. The structure of adsorption products was characterized by Fourier transform IR,XRD and SEM. The results showed that pH was one of the main factors for adsorbing Cr(Ⅵ) . When pH was 5,for the initial Cr(Ⅵ) concentration of 15mg/L,at about 20℃,adsorption for 2h,an ideal adsorption can be achieved by adding 1g of crosslinked hydroxypropyl chitosan to 100mL of adsorption solution. Compared with C-HPCS,the structure and properties of C-HPCS-Cr(Ⅵ) have been markedly changed. Its crystallinity decreased. The metal ion had evident catalyzing function to the decomposition of C-HPCS chains. The morphology studies by SEM which show the loaded C-HPCS change their surface dramatically.
