Light in August:Religious Multiplicity and National Identity

Wang Lixin,Wang Gang
Light in August is the most important and most challenging masterpiece of Faulkner's novels. It renders some major life issues such as the individual identity and seeking social ownership mainly treating the memory of the characters as the core.Meanwhile,it reveals the writer's religious multiplicative thought from racism, violence, sex and other multi-angle view. The novel also occupies an important position in the United States national identity narrative theme from the perspective of the U.S.literary tradition and the grand narrative discourse.
