The Comparative Study of the Treatment on Old Osteoporotic Fracture Patient with Acute Pain

Objective To evaluate the effective methods on elderly osteoporotic fracture patient with acute pain.Comparing and analysis the therapeutic effect of calcitonin and pulsed electromagnetic fields on osteoporotic fracture patient with acute pain. Methods 92 elderly osteoporotic fracture patients with acute pain were divided into 2 groups by random, Calcitonin treatment group (group A):Elcitonin intramuscular 20u/day,the patients were accepted treatment once everyday on the first week,then twice a week;Low-frequency pulsed electromagnetic field therapy group (group B):Low-frequency pulsed electromagnetic fields were used:low-frequency,broad width,and multifields,one course of treatment will last four weeks,on beginning three weeks of every course,the patients were accepted treatment five times(thirty minutes every time) every week,and rest for one week after fifteen times' treatments.Every group has half year treatment,then we respectively take the evaluation of the algetic strength and catabatic degree before treatment and the one month,two month,four month and six month of treatment. Bone mineral density(DXA) and bone strength (QUS) respectively Measure before treatment and at the end of treatment. Results Low-frequency pulsed electromagnetic fields and Calcitonin had marked anesis effect on the acute pain of elderly osteoporotic fracture patient,algetic strength obviously decreased after four weeks(P0.01);in the six month cure process the ache alleviate gradually. Conclusion The clinical curative effect of calcitonin and the low frequency pulse electromagnetism field curing elderly osteoporotic fracture patient with acute pain is similar,they both can alleviate ache effectively.
